At RoamingSims.com we like to review all features which are availbale to help you roaming for less.

We still find that buying a roaming sim is the best solution, however should you want to know what's out there to buy, look at and try, as we still think that dual sim cards and cables are trials, and may work, but we find that most of the cables we bought don't work nor did we have any luck in finding what we really want a dual sim that allows you to receive calls on both numbers, while roaming, but only dialing using your roaming sim.

We strongly advice against cutting your sim card to use one of these cables, despite a lot of claims of not having to cut the sim cards it's almost impossible to store two sim cards in a phone without the battery case falls off, and most of the cables that lists they don't need to cut, because it's in chinese and translated to english you most often have to do it once you see what in the package.

We have looked at and reviewed the following roaming products:

Dual Sim Phones:
They are good and is starting to get interesting however there is nothing yet that we wish to recommend.

Dual sim Switch card mobile phone.
These mobiles allow you to have 2 sim cards inside your mobile without having to cut the SIM card, but only one SIM card is connected at the time, you can switch between sim cards on the phone menu.

Dual Standby Sim card mobile.
This more advanced option allow you to have 2 sim cards connected on standby at the same time. You can receive a call or dial a call to either of the sim cards at a time, however only one call can be received at the time.

Dual Sim Cables
Is for enabling your normal phone to have the features of a dual sim phone without having to change handset, they are useful if you live in china where reception can be bad, and you need to switch provider to be able to stay connected in regions.

Ghost Dual sim card, holders are the easiest way of enabling the use of two sim cards in one phone.
Change sims by either turning the phone off and on or by selecting the sims by dialing 001 or 002 to selecting a sim on the mobiles menu without having to turn the phone on and off.

Sim Card Backup
A nice thing to have as you can copy your phone book from your normal sim to your roaming sim but still more of a gimmick than any real use.

Roaming Java Application:
It starts getting interesting, when java applications are involved, and claim to cut roaming charges completely, well do they?

There is more than 12 companies out there claiming to do this, we installed all of them, bought accounts and tried and tested them along with the roaming sim cards. We tried applications promising free roaming, and abolishing roaming charges for ever, and wifi enabled java applications, we tried them, and after trying them we deleted them and never put them back on our phones again, is some cases we had to flash the mobile and have the system software reset as the application caused too much trouble. They are cumbersome and can crash your phone, and are often not even doing what they are supposed to do, as the marketing manager haven't understood the product or the CEO think he has developed this brilliant product but really it all comes back to a simple and useful roaming sim. if you are a company that produces these and think your product is different, then contact us, send us a demo we will test it, but until we find something worth writing about we leave this area.
